  • What is my objective - do I want to lose weight, build muscle, run a marathon, learn how to do a handstand, or learn a new martial arts skill?

  • Where do I want to exercise - Am I willing to commit to going to the commercial gym, which is a 20min drive away from me, or do I want to get a quick workout at home? Do I want to invest in a pair of dumbbells at home, or do I want to use my own body?

Factor in your fitness level.

Are you someone who never trained before, or have you perhaps consistently trained for years, and now you have reached a phase of diminishing returns?

If you are a total beginner, you can easily start with some light beginner home workout routines, or if you do decide to train in a gym before you look into one on one online coaching, you might be better off scheduling a couple of sessions with a certified personal trainer that can teach you how to execute the basic exercise safely! I always highly recommend that beginners work for at least 3-6 sessions with an in-person fitness coach to master the basic movements, which will help them avoid injuries in the long run. Let's be honest if you have never squatted before and now you watch a video telling you how to squat, you will likely get it all wrong, or perhaps you are not even ready for that movement yet! A good fitness professional will explain, teach and instruct you within 3-4 sessions what is the best way forward!

If you are scheduling online workout classes that have fixed time slots that you can not commit to 2 things will happen:

We all know that nowadays, you can buy reviews and fake testimonials and edit the before and after photos; however, with some due diligence, you can still separate the real quality stuff from all the noise!

See if the online fitness companies or online fitness trainers you are looking to work with have solid Google reviews. See if they have client testimonials and videos of their clients talking about their experiences and results. Check if these are real people, and even do not hesitate to reach out to them directly with a polite message and ask them if they would privately share with you their experience and what objectives they achieved so that you can see if it aligns with your fitness goals!
