How long does it take to learn mixed martial arts?
To become a professional at combat sport, you would have to dedicate years of training. That depends on your goals and how often you train. If you want to get in better shape, you can start seeing results after just a few classes.
What should I wear to a martial arts class?
It would depend on the type of class you are attending. For Boxing, you will need boxing gloves and hand wraps; for kickboxing, you will need boxing gloves, hand wraps, and shin pads. For Muay Thai, you will need boxing gloves, hand wraps, shin pads, and MMA shorts.
What is the best age to start martial arts?
Most people start mixed martial arts in their teenage years or adulthood. However, we have had clients as young as five years old! It just depends on your goals and what you are looking to get out of the experience.
Can I lose weight and achieve muscle building with martial arts?
During a martial arts session, you will burn a lot of calories, somewhere between 300 to 600 calories. You will also be toning your muscles and improving your cardiovascular fitness. That will help you lose weight, burn fat and achieve muscle building! However, to optimize your results, we suggest you incorporate 2-weekly resistant sessions with a personal trainer and eat appropriately for your specific goal!
Can I learn Boxing myself?
Yes, you can learn Boxing yourself, but we highly recommend finding a good trainer to help you understand the proper techniques. A trainer can also help you stay motivated, avoid injuries, and achieve your fitness goals.
